All Free Shapeshift Morphs in Throne & Liberty and How to Unlock Them
Welcome to our guide about how to unlock all free Shapeshift Morphs in Throne & Liberty.
Throne & Liberty has many Shapeshift Morphs available. These are a collection of different shapes your character can transform into while not in combat. They don't have much of an effect besides drastically altering your character's appearance and are just for fun or for showing off. Performing an attack or sprinting, swimming, or gliding will cause your character to transform back to their normal self or one of their Dash/Swim/Glide morphs.
Some morphs will allow you to traverse an area of Solistium without being attacked by a certain enemy type. For example, Terror Birds in Nesting Grounds will ignore you if you are using the Terror Bird Morph.
For more guides about a variety of topics in TL, please check our Throne & Liberty Guides Database.
Scarab
The Scarabs native to the Laslan Golden Rye Pastures mutated into giants after being exposed to the cursed rain. They retaliate fiercely when attacked, and are covered with a hard shell. They charge their prey with their large horns, which are also valued for their medicinal properties. If you choose to morph into the form of a scarab, be careful not to run afoul of the local Harvesters created to destroy them!
To unlock the Scarab morph, complete the Recipe for Rancid Powder quest in Chapter 1 of the Adventure Codex.
Chestacean
Chestaceans use the advanced hunting technique of attracting humans to animals with mimicry before attacking. While their natural shells often provide adequate defence, they constantly search for something harder to protect their bodies. As such, these creatures compete fiercely with one another to get the most expensive-looking chest when cargo washes up from shipwrecks on Windhill Shores.
To unlock the Chestacean morph, complete the fourth objective in the A Sailor's Latter quest in the Windhill Shores Exploration Codex:
- Read the Letter in a Bottle near the wreck under Spiral Cliff
- Find the Stranded Sailor who wrote this latter by boarding the Marind that regularly docks at Kastleton Port or by swimming
- Read the letter near the Stranded Sailor
- Examine the Shipwreck Treasure Chest near the shipwreck
Shrewd Wolf
Completely covered in grey fur, they have extremely sensitive noses. With their highly developed senses, these are the variety of wolf that travellers in the Blackhowl Plains are most wary of. When one spots their prey, they pounce high into the air and come down clamping their strong jaws around their target's neck. These terrifying beasts are thought to be a hybrid of the Brutal Wolf and Blackhowl Wolf.
To unlock the Shrewd Wolf morph, complete the third objective in the Dangerous Gem quest in the Blackhowl Plains Exploration Codex:
- Eavesdrop on the mysterious sounds in the Abandoned House near the Western Campsite
- Go into the Abandoned House

A type of goblin from the Urstella clan that inhabits the Urstella Fields. Goblin Butchers come to battle equipped with helmets, armour and dual axes, and are noted for wearing their long hair up. They have a custom of tying their hair high on their heads, and rumour has it that the higher a Goblin Butcher ties their hair, the stronger they are. They are hostile toward humans who try to steal Stardust.

- Collect a page of Collection: About Morokai

Headcrusher Terror Bird
Headcrusher Terror Birds have thick skulls but decreased intelligence due to frequent headbutting. They sometimes forget who they were attacking as a result! However, their strong human-sized legs and terrifying beaks make them sufficiently fearsome opponents. It is essential to be shapeshifted into a Headcrusher Terror Bird when approaching the Nesting Grounds.
To unlock the Headcrusher Terror Bird Morph in Throne & Liberty, complete the One Flew Over the Terror Bird's Next quest in the Nesting Grounds Exploration Codex:

Flame Fighter
Back before the Resistance existed, the only way to escape from the tyranny of a lord was to wander aimlessly or become a bandit. Without any formal military training or armaments, the serfs taught themselves to fight by randomly swinging with anything they could find. Even today, the brawlers of the Sandflame Bandits value their legacy of improvisation, thinking nothing of using torches, chair legs, or anything else they can find as a club.
To unlock the Flame Fighter morph, complete the Treasure of a Daybreak quest, part of the Monolith Wastelands Exploration Codex:
- Defeat Flame Fighter and acquire Loot Chest Key
- Open the Loot Chest at the Sandflame Bandit base to collect Collection Codex: A Mysterious Copy of a Map
