Day and Night Cycle Guide - Throne & Liberty Andrew 1 month ago Beginner General Share on Reddit Share on Twitter Share on Facebook Welcome to our guide about the Day/Night Schedule in Throne & Liberty. While many open-world games have a Day/Night Cycle, this is often simply a cosmetic change or impacts the game world in minor ways, such as shops closing and NPCs moving to different locations. However, the time of day in Throne & Liberty has a wider range of impacts on the game, completely changing the nature of some locations, impacting combat, and opening up different types of content at night. This quick guide will explain the different ways that the time of day impacts Throne & Liberty. For more guides about a variety of topics in TL, please check our Throne & Liberty Guides Database. How to Track the Day/Night Cycle in Throne & Liberty To make use of the day/night cycle in Throne & Liberty, you first need to know how to keep track of it. In-game, you can see the current time of day by opening the Map screen and looking at the bottom right. Here, you can also see how long is left until the next sunrise or sunset. If you're not in-game, you can track the day/night cycle using our Real-Time Day and Night Schedule tool for Throne & Liberty. This is especially useful if there's a certain type of content you want to do that's only active at a certain time of day, saving you the trouble of logging in only to find that you need to wait. How to view the current time of day in Throne & Liberty How Does the Day/Night Cycle Work in Throne & Liberty? Throne and Liberty's Day/Night Cycle is highly asymmetrical, with the day lasting for 4 hours (of real-world time) and the night lasting for just one hour. Daytime is, therefore, considered the "normal" state of the world in Throne & Liberty, and it is generally less dangerous during the day. Some of the most notable differences brought by nightfall are: Some NPCs will disappear. Some Public dungeons will have their doors locked shut, and any players still inside will be subject to PvP rules until morning. Some Skills and Passives have different effects, such as Devotion and Emptiness and Murderous Energy Some enemies become more aggressive (becoming hostile on sight instead of in self-defence). Eclipses in Throne & Liberty While the above rules hold true most of the time, each day, a small number of players who top rankings will unlock Transcending Powers. One of these is Transcending Power: Eclipse, which allows the caster to darken the world for 10 minutes, effectively making it night for a short period of time. These skills are unlocked by ranking #1 in one of the daily categories: Growth Ranking, Activity Ranking, or Kill Ranking. Transcending Powers have a 12-hour cooldown, so Eclipses will be pretty rare, but remember that it can happen when you're in a location that changes notably at night time.
