The flying whale in Throne & Liberty is called Gigantrite. If you've played the game for a few hours, you've probably already seen it cruising around the skies, and wondered what the deal is with this huge creature. Gigantrite - believed to be the last of its kind - flies every three hours. Flying on Gigantrite is mostly just a fun experience without much incentive in terms of items, however you can unlock one reward in the process. More on that below. How to Board Gigantrite in Throne & Liberty To get on the Flying Whale in Throne and Liberty, you first need to find out when his next flight will be. To do this, open the in-game Map and go to the Event Calendar. Alternatively, you can check our Event Calendar - just remember to select your server so you get the right info. First, find out when Gigantrite flies next Find a time that's good for you, and ensure that you are on top of the tallest tower at Starlight Observatory Ruins (use your grappling hook to reach the top) by that time. Once there, wait for Gigantrite to appear. He will slowly fly past the tower. Wait until he's close enough, then leap from the tower and use your Glide Morph to reach Gigantrite and land on his back. Get to the top of the Starlight Observatory Tower Jump and Glide to Gigantrite when he flies by the tower You're now free to run around on the back of Gigantrite - it's a fairly big area and you can get some really good views of the landscape. Be careful not to fall down, though. Gigantrite Routes Gigantrite has three different routes. Boarding Gigantrite isn't always a simple process - there are no convenient stops along the journey, not even at the beginning. However, Gigantrite flies past several high points en route. To board Gigantrite, you must glide onto his back from one of these high points. We will now detail the different routes Gigantrite can take. Purelight Tower Route The first, longest and most accessible route begins in the western sea, where Gigantrite emerges from the water directly west from the Ruins of Turayne. On this route, your first opportunity to board Gigantrite is to glide from the top of Purelight Tower. There are later boarding points at Starlight Observatory Ruins and The Raging Wilds. The full route is: Fly by Watcher's Post and Ruins of Turayne Fly by Purelight Tower (Board here) Fly by Shattered Temple Fly by Starlight Observatory Ruins (Board here) Fly over the mountains, then by Sandworm Lair Fly by The Raging Wilds (board here) Fly by Grayclaw Forest, Manawastes, Sanctuary Oasis and Daybreak Shore Flies over Sauradoma Island, then returns to the water east of Stonegard Castle Gigantrite Purelight Tower Route Map South Coast Route This is a slightly shorter route that sticks to the South Coast of the map. It is one of two routes that can be utilized by players attacking Stonegard Castle during Siege Events, by boarding Gigantrite then gliding into the castle, bypassing the walls. Gigantrite emerges from the ocean directly west of Kastleton, then follows the route below: Fly by Kastleton and Windhill Shores Fly by Starlight Observatory Ruins (Board here) Fly by Nesting Grounds, Vienta Village and Monolith Wastelands Fly by Temple of Sylaveth. You can board from the hill to the south-west. Fly by Stonegard Castle and Sauradoma Island. Returns to the water east of Daybreak Shore. Gigantrite South Coast Route Map Stonegard Route The shortest of Gigantrite's Routes, this path only explores the south-east area of Solisium. It can be used to bypass the walls of Stonegard Castle during sieges. This route only has one boarding point at the beginning of the route. Gigantrite emerges from the ocean roughly west of Stonegard Castle, then takes the following route: Fly by Temple of Sylaveth. You can board from the hill to the south-west. Fly by Stonegard Castle and Titanreach Ruins. Crosses the water and flies by Sauradoma Island Flies by Daybreak Shore and Manawastes Turns west and flies by The Raging Wilds, Moonlight Desert and Sandworm Lair. Turns south and flies by the Abandoned Stonemason Town. Returns to the water directly between Stonegard Castle and Sauradoma Island. Gigantrite Stonegard Route Map Gigantrite Rewards in Throne & Liberty If the view isn't enough of an incentive, there is a reward you can earn on your first time on Gigantrite. This is part of a wider Exploration Codex entry called Little Friend in the Sky. Before going to Gigantrite, find the Codex entry in your Exploration Codex and track it so that you can find the first two objectives (you need to locate a couple of letters). Once this is done, board Gigantrite and search for the Amitoi on his back - he can be found on a rock near the edge. You have plenty of time to look around. Find the Amitoi, then finish the rest of your voyage if you want to. Remember to search for the lost Amitoi on Gigantrite's back Next, go to Tailor Noan in Kastleton Inn, and then talk to Yeddy. Finishing this quest unlocks the Snow White Cutie Yeddy Amitoi. To find out how to unlock other Amitois in Throne & Liberty, check our Free Amitois Unlock Guide.
