Loot Distribution Guide - Throne & Liberty

Welcome to our guide about loot distribution in Throne & Liberty.

In this guide, we will explain the rules that dictate how loot is distributed in TL. The distribution rules vary somewhat, depending on the type of content that the loot is coming from. We will explain all of the scenarios below.

For more guides about a variety of topics in TL, please check our Throne & Liberty Guides Database.

General Loot Distribution Rules

These are the rules that apply in most cases in Throne & Liberty. Specifically, we are talking about field bosses, open-world enemies, public dungeons, quests, dynamic events, and co-op dungeons, with the exception of the final reward chest.

In these scenarios, to get loot from an enemy, a player must earn Contribution. Contribution is earned by being the first player to damage the enemy. The healthbar of the enemy will turn gray for other players, signalling that they won't get any loot by engaging that enemy.

When playing solo, a player will get all of the loot from enemies that they have Contribution for.

However, when playing in a group things work differently:

  • The Contribution will be given to the group as a whole. (Contribution is still earned by being the first player to damage an enemy)
  • Loot will be distributed as evenly as possible between group members, with the exception of players who are out of range and have no Contribution. A group of 5 players that drops 10 items will get 2 items each. If even distribution is impossible, a randomly selected eligible player will get the surplus item.
  • Sollant and XP are distributed equally between group members.

These rules dictate loot distribution in most situations. In the rest of the guide, we will discuss special loot distribution rules that apply in some situations.

Peace Mode Bosses & Guild Raids

When fighting a Peace Mode Boss or Guild Raid Boss, Contribution is earned by damaging the boss and/or healing players who are fighting the boss. The more damage and healing you do during the fight, the higher your Contribution will be. Total group or guild Contribution is not considered for these drops, only individual Contribution matters.

There are two types of loot from peace bosses:

  • Contribution Drops - All players who meet a minimum Contribution threshold are eligible for a Contribution Drop. Their chance of getting a drop depends on their share of the total Contribution.
  • Random Drops - Players who did not receive a Contribution Drop have a chance to get a Random Drop. You must still meet the minimum Contribution requirement to get a Random Drop.

Sollant and XP is divided equally between all participants.

You may want to look at Throne & Liberty Builds to improve your DPS or HPS and get better Contribution scores in boss fights.

Conflict Mode Bosses

For Conflict Mode Bosses and Archbosses, Guilds are taken into account with the loot rules, which makes the system a bit more complicated.

When a Conflict Mode Boss or Archboss dies, Contribution is calculated for each participating Guild based on the Contribution of each player within the Guild. Guilds are then sorted based on their total Contribution. Note that a player who dies during a Conflict Mode boss loses 70% of their Contribution, which will also reduce the total Contribution of their Guild.

Each participating Guild must meet a minimum Contribution threshold to be eligible for loot. Loot items are then distributed by chance based on Guild Contribution.

Once a Guild has been assigned an item, all participating players within the Guild have an equal chance to receive the item.

Sollant and XP are equally distributed between all participants.
