Sieges Are Finally Coming to Throne & Liberty - How Do They Work? Andrew 1 week ago Share on Reddit Share on Twitter Share on Facebook Guild-based PvP is a central part of Throne & Liberty, the latest big MMORPG. While the game enjoyed its full international release on October 1st, a couple of the most anticipated elements of PvP have remained inactive until now. Guide: Throne and Liberty Siege Guide If you've played Throne & Liberty for a few hours, you've probably come across Stonegard Castle, a large settlement in the southeast area of the map, surrounded by broken-down ruins and golems. These ruined structures aren't just there for story-telling, and this area will soon come alive in a whole new way. What Are Sieges in Throne & Liberty? In Sieges, the most powerful guilds will compete to control Stonegard Castle. The reigning guild will be tasked with defending the walls of Stonegard Castle and, ultimately, the throne room. Other guilds can use various means to gain entry to the fortified castle, such as towering Golems that can attack the defenders or carry attackers up to the walls. In some conditions, you can sneak in through the sewers or glide in from above. Attackers can use Golems and Glide Morphs to enter Stonegard Castle Stonegard Sieges promise epic battles between massive amounts of players, and it's one of the main things that PvP-minded guilds have been preparing for since launch. Controlling Stonegard Castle isn't just for bragging rights - the controlling guild will also collect a share of tax from some transactions, and gain access to the new Tax Delivery mission. To learn more about how Sieges work: Throne & Liberty Siege Guide The First Defenders of Stonegard Castle have already been chosen on each server. Since there was no PvP in the Castle yet, how did this happen? The First Defenders of Stonegard Castle Back in October, Guilds were placing extra emphasis on competing for the top Guild Ranking on their server. Guild Ranking is earned by completing activities such as Guild PvP and Contracts. The #1 ranked Guild on each server on October 25th was given residence in Stonegard Castle, and the right to become the First Defender. From now on, the defending Guild will remain in control of Stonegard Castle unless a rival Guild drives them out in a Siege, in which case the victorious Guild will be the defenders next time around. PvP players will converge on Stonegard Castle to overthrow the Defenders When Is the First Siege in Throne & Liberty? The first Castle Sieges will take place on November 17th. Reigning Guilds must muster their strength to prepare against the inevitable attacks. Utilizing strategic positions such as the sewers and the levers that can raise and lower the gates will be a vital element of Siege warfare for both attackers and defenders. Attackers will have 45 minutes to breach the defences and capture (then hold onto) the throne room. Therefore, the defending guild doesn't need to utterly defeat all of the attacking guilds, but delay them for long enough to run down the timer.
