EDIT with the changes to dungeon drops and the release of new dungeons. the build path is most likely a bit different. You can obtain ghost wolf chest/mask from dungeons now. So could use that two piece set with generals gloves & boots instead.
This build plays as a frontline assassin, thats able to put out decent damage as well as giving attack speed, regen, increased health & lowering a mobs defence for you team. GS can also apply stuns/shocks and knockdowns to enemies.
this particular build is very single target focused so doesn't offer a huge amount of AOE.
The premise of the build revolves around crit and heavy attack chance which is reflected in the gear and skill upgrades.
Daily play cycle will be;
Prior to running dungeons i'd strongly advise getting blues to +9 any getting the correct traits, as finding a dungeon group that wont kick you will be rough. (ask guildies to help out in order to get some early epic weapons)
We'll be mainly focusing on weapongrowth stones early from daily contracts to get to +9 ASAP. Do not under any circumstances level up a blue weapon unless its +9 or you will look a bit silly with a +4/+5 epic weapon and be laughed at!
Our main destination to start with be Cave of destruction Heres a useful guide: https://www.studioloot.com/uncategorized/articles/underground-cave-of-destruction-guide/
We focus this dungeon ASAP as it can help us obtain both our Epic weapons in Leq's thorny edge and magna dukes berserk blade. (i'd advise getting dagger first since you mainhand these badboys and quite frankly they look cooler)
Cave can also help us obtain our Helm, Cloak & Bracers so it's a no brainer to get these first.
Getting the Helm and Gloves/Boots combo is a nice early goal for 150 heavy atk chance.
Once you've done your 3 dungeons a day, look towards contracts and world bosses to try and get lucky. Or run around Fonos like a madman trying for some general boots.
Early on you may be struggling for both Lucent and Sollant. If you receive a drop from a dungeon with a bad trait on i'd highly advise disolving this into Dimensional crystals which can be used in Stoneguard to purchase a Paulas dimension weapon box. (this will help you trait your epic weapons alot faster.
However if the drop you obtain is worth a fair bit of Lucent you can extract the trait and sell on the AH to help you trait your weapons faster. This costs about 600k Sollant so can get quite expensive. But can help you gear up faster.
As for Precious gems, ideally you'd want to keep them but if you are struggling for Sollant you can sell them to a vendor (preferably not Rubrix or Marinds as these are more useful early.
Ghost wolf or Reaper!?
Personal choice, wolf gives flat dmg whereas reaper gives a bonus to crit dmg.
You should probably swap out general gloves for reaper or ghost wolf gloves as they are easier to obtain than the boots/pants in this set. (run general boots instead of gloves for the 150 Heavy attack chance passive with the helm. I got General gloves as a drop early so have built this way instead.
These set items are really hard to obtain but the easiest way to do so is by running guild raids or hoping you get lucky at a world boss. GL though....
You can obtain general fury gloves from Open dungeon contracts by trading in the Abyss currency (24 of these can be bought per week) for the Abyss equipment chest or getting lucky opening the pouches you get from contract tokens (aqcuired 1 per day or normal contracts) Note if you are going for the boots in this set instead, they are a rare drop from Fonos Basin. But you are better off buying them from the AH.
As above; Cave can also help us obtain our Helm, Cloak & Bracers so it's a no brainer to get these first.
Your top slot is a filler slot and i've chosen the miracle mother nature top as it gives us a nice heavy attack chance bonus. This is obtained through Abyss tokens again from the tyrant chest. Or a rare drop from Sauro island.
Your last two items (Legs & gloves or Legs & boots should be from the same set. Ghost or reapers. These are very hard to obtain so you'll probably be sat on blue +9s for a while but can trait them the same way.
The rest of your accessories are from a few different places. Abyssal ring is from DA so farm that after Cave.
Unshakeable gold ring is also from the Abyss contract token chest or a rare drop from Syleus 5F but isn't a priority to start with.
Belt is from Butcher's Canyon, so farm that when you please. You could go Tycans belt but its hella expensive currently in KR
And finally the choker is from the World boss Azhreil which again is very hard to obtain and quite expensive so get that when you like. Keeping a +9 traited blue isn't too awful.
In theory you could swap out a cloak as none of them are typically amazing. However this cloak allows for traited mana which is useful.
You could also get an eternal ring of dimension, crafted from dungeon dimensional tokens. (Although we'd ignore the Set Bonus this offers) This gives a bit of DEX & Str as you level it so is an option. As well as the Lethal frost ring from Cursed wasteland. This ring gives base +4 dex at lvl 1. however we dont really gain much from the weaken chance. It depends if you value Attack speed and mana cost reduction or flat DEX & STR.
Lethal frost and Abyss ring allow you to trait max mana, whereas the unshakable gold ring & Eternal ring of dimension allow you to trait max health instead. So pick your poison!
Check you melee crit rate chance as once you have both rings you'll likely be over 100% so may benefit from the above rings that do not offer more DEX on top.
Skill upgrades are fairly flexible.
Brutal incision is our main dps skill with pred strike threaded in whenever we can.
Precision dash (purple gives hvy atk chance) + stunning blow (heavy atk chance on stun) + death blow gives us a nice amount of heavy attack chance when used in that order.
Always use Ascending slash before guillotine blade for the knockdown & chance at extra dmg as you bonk something on the head.
Poision before opening and pop da vincis courage for the group wide attack speed buff (at purple)
Stunning blow and valiant brawl should be upgraded to purple last as they dont offer as much DPS as other skills.
Prio dagger passive over GS passive expect for cold warrior. Because who doesn't like dealing more double dmg heavy attacks.
As for stats ignore STR as we don't really need the extra health. We want to whack as much in DEX as we can and do an even split in PER & WIS for mana/mana regen and hit chance/CDR.
We're using both the bottom lines for Dagger (Assassination) and for Greatsword (Face off) for our mastery lines for the best DPS.
Remember to participate in any events when you can to accelerate skill growth.
You can also buy Rare lithographs from the guild merchant, or use death soul shards from Syleus 1F &2F to craft blue weapons. This can help you trait blue weapons or give you some blessing towards your epics.
If you have a good amount of blessing it's hugely recommended to use this blessing %chance when trying to upgrade heavy attack chance on your epic weapons, as this is typically the most expensive trait.
Remember that blessing will be transferred from a +9 rare to a +6 epic. so you can pre prep blessing on a blue +9 for an easier time traiting the Epic +6.
