Cave of Destruction Dungeon Guide - Throne & Liberty Andrew 3 months ago Dungeons PvE Share on Reddit Share on Twitter Share on Facebook Table of Contents Starting Mobs First Boss - The Princess Ant Second Room Second Boss - Giant Acid Ant Final Boss - Lequirus Welcome to our Cave of Destruction dungeon guide for Throne & Liberty. The Cave of Destruction is a level 50 dungeon and is a harder version of the Cave of Desperation, with similar enemies and mechanics. In this guide, we will walk you through the dungeon, explaining the most dangerous mobs, the bosses and their mechanics, and the best strategies for defeating them. This dungeon is one of the most important ones to farm for DPS and Healer players who are trying to obtain gear for their character, as it drops both the Lequirus's Thorny Edge daggers and Lequirus's Grip wand & tome. For more guides about a variety of topics in TL, please check our Throne & Liberty Guides Database. Starting Mobs In the first room of the dungeon, you'll be introduced to some of the mobs that populate the Cave of Destruction: Acid Ants - These are a basic mob in this dungeon. The tank should gather them up so the DPS players can easily kill them. Exploding Ants - You will see large green ants that charge at players and explode. Block the explosion to reduce the damage you take. If an exploding ant is chasing you, try to draw it away from other players before it explodes. First Boss - The Princess Ant Before facing the Princess Ant, you must destroy some ant larvae. As soon as the larvae take damage, a timer will start. At the end of the timer, all remaining larvae will hatch into ants. After defeating this trash encounter, the first boss of the Cave of Destruction will spawn. The Princess Ant is an easy first boss that is very similar to the Cave of Desperation version. It only has a small number of mechanics to worry about: Fury Attacks - The Princess Ant attacks the tank with Fury Attacks. These should be blocked. Summon Ants - The Princess Ant shouts a taunt, then spawns another wave of additional ants to help her. These can be gathered up and killed by the DPS, but it's possible to prevent them from spawning by hitting the boss with hard CC (stun) when she calls the taunt. Exploding Larvae - Exploding Ant Larvae will attach themselves to players throughout the fight. After a few seconds, they explode, dealing heavy damage and paralysing the victim. If you have an ant larvae on you, touch another player to transfer it to them. This will deactivate the larva (it will turn blue to indicate this). Second Room After defeating the Princess Ant, head into the next room. Before taking on the second boss, you must face another few waves of trash enemies. To begin the trash fight, destroy the green sacs. You'll then need to deal with the following enemies: Exploding Ants - These will spawn in waves every few seconds. They work in the same way as in the first room. Giant Acid Ant Egg - This needs to be destroyed to start the second boss fight, but it is initially invulnerable. To damage it, you must kill the three Poisonous Worker Ants. Poisonous Worker Ants - These ants protect the egg, and you cannot damage it while they are alive. These ants hit very hard, so the tank should ensure they have their aggro, and make sure to block their attacks. After clearing the ants and destroying the egg, the second boss will trigger. Second Boss - Giant Acid Ant The Giant Acid Ant is very similar to its counterpart in the Cave of Desperation. It has the following mechanics: Exploding Ants - Exploding Ants will continue to spawn and attack players throughout the fight. Remember to kite them away from your team and block the explosion. Acid Puddles - The Giant Acid Ant sprays acid at players, which forms puddles on the ground. These green AoEs damage anyone who touches them. Players should try to stay close together when they aren't kiting an exploding ant, as this will cause these AoEs to be less widely spread. If they are scattered around the room, it can become hard to move around due to area denial. The tank should move the boss if the current position has too many acid AoEs on the ground. Fury Pull - The Giant Acid Ant charges a Fury Attack, which must be blocked. If you fail to block it, the boss will pull you in, dropping you in the acid AoEs surrounding it. This can be deadly, especially if your HP is already low. Once this boss is defeated, you can proceed to Lequirus, the final boss of the Cave of Destruction. Final Boss - Lequirus Lequirus is the final boss of the Cave of Destruction. In keeping with the trend we've seen so far in the dungeon, this boss is essentially a harder version of Lacune from the Cave of Desperation, with similar mechanics and attacks. However, Lequirus has more attacks and mechanics to make it more challenging. Note the three pillars seen in the room - these will be important during the fight. To trigger Lequirus, destroy the green sacs atop the pillars. Tank Strike - The tank and healer should watch Lequirus' axe. When it glows red, Lequirus is about to hit the tank with an especially heavy, unavoidable attack. The healer should ensure the tank is healed up to full HP before it happens, and the tank should ensure they have any active defensive buffs. The base damage of this attack is scaled from the tank's max HP, so stacking high HP won't help you. Protective circle - A red or blue circle will spawn near the tank. Note the colour, as you'll need it for the next mechanic. Colour Ants - Two ants will spawn - one red, one blue. Kill the ant that matches the colour of the protective circle. This will create another protective circle. Standing within this circle also grants you a temporary damage buff. Wipe Mechanic - After performing the Tank Strike attack for a second time, Lequirus will shout a taunt. When this happens, everyone needs to go to the circle that was created by the slain ant in the previously mentioned mechanic. A pillar will raise up from the ground in the circle, protecting players. If you don't make it to the circle, you can also survive by going up one of the static pillars that we mentioned at the beginning. The boss will instantly kill anyone who is too slow and lingers on the ground. The raised pillar then breaks. Gem Ant - The boss will hover in the air and begin shooting poison at the whole team. At the same time, a special Gem Ant appears on one of the three static pillars. Ideally, the party should glide from the raised pillar to the Gem Ant before the pillar breaks. The tank must taunt the Gem Ant and block its attacks, because it hits very hard and leaves poison stacks that can quickly kill you if you're not careful. The rest of the team must kill the Gem Ant to make the boss land, allowing you to continue the fight. Exploding Larvae - When below 50% HP, Lequirus introduces exploding larvae to the fight. These work in the same way as during the first boss, but are more numerous. Make sure to work as a team to neutralise these larvae before they explode. Lequirus' Axe will glow brightly before the Tank Strike Destroy the Gem Ant to continue These mechanics will repeat in a loop for the rest of the fight. It is fairly simple and there are no hard DPS checks - once everyone knows what they're doing you should be able to beat this boss, even if your team is relatively inexperienced. The tank is the player under most pressure in this fight, due to the powerful Tank Strike attack, and the hard-hitting Gem Ant. It's the healer's priority to ensure the tank survives these mechanics.
