TL Evasion vs Endurance - Which is Better?

Welcome to our guide about Evasion and Endurance in Throne & Liberty. In this guide, we will examine which stats are best and which you should focus on when building your character in TL.

What's The Difference Between Evasion and Endurance?

Evasion and Endurance are both defensive stats in Throne & Liberty that can help to keep your character alive, but it's important to understand how they work, as using them incorrectly can render them potentially ineffective.

Evasion is a stat that allows you to avoid enemy attacks (including Crowd Control) by causing them to miss. For Evasion to have any effect, it must be higher than your opponent's Hit Chance. If your Evasion is lower than their Hit Chance, it will yield no benefit at all.

Endurance allows you to reduce incoming damage by directly reducing the enemy's Critical Hit Chance. Unlike Evasion, every point of Endurance has an effect and will subtract from their Critical Hit Chance. If your Endurance stat is equal to your opponent's Critical Chance, it will be impossible for them to land any Critical Hits on you. If your Endurance is higher than their Critical Chance, you will instead impose a Glancing Hit Chance on their attacks - this is a chance for the opposite of a Critical Hit to occur, where the minimum possible damage is used for the attack, instead of the maximum.

Evasion Pros & Cons

On the surface, Evasion seems to be the most powerful of the two stats because it can cause enemy attacks to miss completely. However, when you are fighting against well-geared players, they will have a high Hit Chance, which means your Evasion stat will be weak unless you have stacked it very high.

This means that if you want to spec into Evasion, you must go all out and build it as high as possible. Taking half-measures with Evasion will render the stat useless. But if you stack it enough, it can be very powerful.

Endurance Pros & Cons

Endurance is not as strong as Evasion in terms of the potential damage mitigation that it offers. However, this stat is more approachable and grants an immediate benefit even if you only have a little bit.

You can still choose to stack Endurance high, and this will significantly reduce the amount of damage that attackers can deal to you, especially if they haven't built much Critical Hit Chance into their build.

Should I Use Evasion or Endurance in Throne & Liberty?

The most common consensus is that Evasion is the most powerful stat right now because many players haven't maxed out their gear, and Epic 2 gear hasn't been released yet (on the international servers), so average Hit Chance isn't especially high.

As players' builds become more powerful over time and their Hit Chance increases, it's expected that Endurance will become more meta. This will be especially true when Epic 2 gear is released.

However, note that if you are playing with the Daggers weapon type, you can use the Shadow Walker passive to increase your Evasion more than most players, so you may want to stick with Evasion if you're playing on this weapon type.

For everyone else, it's up to you if you want to build towards Evasion now and then respec into Endurance when the meta shifts more in that direction, or immediately begin building towards Endurance,
