I think you can get most Of tier 1 gear from the 1 star dungeons or the abyssal dungeon contract token. You do not necessarily need all of the gear to progress to the next set of gear. After finishing your daily dungeon runs you will go to abyss contract dungeons to target farm gear.
You're going to try to build into the "Final" tab. This first tab is so you can build yourself up to be able to get into T2 content (2500 gear score) so you can start to get the top of Tier 1 gear.
Tier 1 dungeons
-Cave of Destruction for the daggers, cloak, and bracelet.
-Butcher's Canyon for the greatsword, and belt.
-After you have these important items, you should look to do random runs. They have extra loot on top of the normal loot box from defeating the boss. The goal is to get your gear, and then upgrade traits. You will want to save some for the later loot, just keep in mind it may be awhile before getting there. Upgrade your gear, but keep in mind you will most likely be upgrading. Typically your upgrades will only be for best in slot gear. You can use trait stones on your gear, but remember that traiting requires another trait from the same equipment. So typically you want to use the unlock traits on the rarer, harder to obtain gear slots.
Farm the Infernal Gear while in the abyss dungeons. However switch to field general gear whenever possible. Whichever dungeon you are in, you will want to coordinate contracts to go with current dungeon. This is double helpful. You will get pouches for completing contracts, as well as gain abyssal tokens. The tokens allow you to craft selection chests. Those will allow you to select specific items for traits, or to fill out what you are missing. I wouldnt worry too much about traits on the first armor set. The infernal gear is okay but definitely not great. Both the Shock Commander half set, and the entire Field General set are better than any of the Infernal Herald gear
