The Fastest Way to Get Purple Skills in Throne & Liberty

Welcome to our Skill and Passive Power Leveling Guide for Throne & Liberty. In this guide, we will explain the fastest method for levelling your Skills and Passives to purple in Throne & Liberty.

Why Should I Power Level Skills?

Power Leveling is optional, but it's very useful for both beginners and intermediate players in Throne & Liberty.

New players often struggle with low damage, which makes questing and grinding take longer than it should, which can be quite frustrating. Upgrading your skills is one of the best ways to remedy this problem.

You can use this method to level up the Skills and Passives on your first pair of weapons, or to level up Skills and Passives on a third weapon, which is useful for some players - particularly if you are primarily a Tank or Healer, but want to level up another more DPS-focused weapon for farming.

We'll now explain the best method for leveling up your Skills and Passives in Throne & Liberty.

Getting the Required Items

To use this method, you will need a stack of Sollant (gold) saved up, for me around three million Sollant was enough to power level three weapons, although this will vary a bit depending on what exactly you require and what your starting point is.

This might sound like a lot of Sollant, but you can get that much in a few hours by doing quests, Contracts and other activities. You can also sell valuable items like Marinds to an NPC vendor to quickly get a lot of gold, or you can buy a chest of one million Sollant from the Battle Pass Shop for 300 Crystals.

Next, you'll need some Precious (purple) Active and Passive Skill Improvement Books. You'll get some of these by progressing through the Adventure Codex, and from other activities such as Taedal's Tower

If you don't have enough, you can easily buy more from the Shop by spending Ornate Coins. Ornate Coins are gained by collecting Collection Codexes (the purple notes and books you find lying around), but are also commonly given out by the developers as compensation for server downtimes (check your Mail in-game to ensure you collect them). Therefore, you probably have an abundance of Ornate Coins, and you can use these to purchase Precious Active Skill Improvement Books and Precious Passive Skill Improvement Books, for 10 Ornate Coins each.

Please note that buying these books in the Shop is limited to 20 books of each type, but you can still do a lot with these.

How it Works

To quickly level up Skills and Passives, we are going to Dissolve the Precious Skill Growth Books into Rare Skill Growth Books, and Dissolve the Rare Growth Books into Quality Skill Growth Books

Remember that for every 10 Ornate Coins we spent, we got one Purple Book. When Dissolved, this yields:

  • 10 Rare Skill Growth Books
  • 100 Quality Skill Growth Books

You can therefore get all of your Skills and Passives to Blue Level 1 with just 10 Precious Books of each kind.

To do this, open your Inventory and click the Dissolve icon (it looks like a glass flask). Then add the desire number of Precious Books to the Dissolve panel - use Shift + Click if you need to split the stack. Dissolving them will cost a chunk of Sollant. This will give you ten times as many Rare Skill Books, which you can then Dissolve again to get a further 10 times as many Quality Skill Books.

Note that if you already have a large stack of Rare (blue) Skill Books in your Inventory, you can save Sollant in the Green to Blue phase by Dissolving these instead of buying Precious Books to start with.

Getting all of your Skills and Passives to Blue Level 1 is the first milestone here, and if you run out of Sollant now then you can always come back to it later.

To get your Skills and Passives to Purple 1, repeat the process described above, but this time don't Dissolve the blue books to green. This will be more expensive, as you'll need to Dissolve around ten times more Precious Books, but if you've finished the Adventure Codex and have played the game for a couple of weeks, you should already have enough Precious Books and sufficient Ornate Coins to fill in any gaps.

Important: Do not buy Rare (blue) books from the Shop - this is very inefficient, because they cost half as much as the Precious books, whereas Dissolving a Precious Book will give you ten Rare books!

Shouldn't I Save the Purple Books?

The most common concern about this method is that Precious (Purple) books are valuable items, and the first instinct is to save them for when you reach purple 1 so that you can max out your skills.

The problem with this idea is that the game doesn't give you nearly enough purple books via rewards to max out your Skills and Passives - it doesn't even give you enough blue books to get all your Skills to Purple 1 without either using this method or spending a lot of time farming materials and grinding.

You'll need hundreds of Precious Books to max out your Skills, and getting them will be a time-consuming process whether you use this method or not. With the same number of Precious Books required to max out one skill from purple level 1, you can get about ten skills from blue level 1 to purple level 1.

Your character will also be considerably stronger after making all of your skills Purple 1 - the difference was immediately noticeable to me.

After getting everything you need to Purple level 1 with this method, you can begin saving up Precious Books by spending Ornate Coins (there aren't many other useful things to spend them on right now, anyway) and other methods, such as crafting, and gradually progress through the purple skill levels, prioritising your most impactful Skills and Passives.
