Because they are so hard to research, the actual number of Merlapins in the wild is difficult to determine. Truly, much about these beasts remain shrouded in mystery.

This canine once hid in a deep, secluded valley until a kindly wizard took the lonely beast. They built Pompom a sturdy but transparent orb that negated its electric currents. Now that it won't accidentally shock anyone, Pompom clearly loves its new home, eager to roll its ball around and meet as many people as it can.
