Top Five Lucent Farming Methods in Throne & Liberty

Welcome to our guide about the best 5 Lucent farming methods in Throne & Liberty.

At first glance, Throne & Liberty's economy can seem prohibitive for players who don't want to spend real money on the game. This is because the Auction House uses Lucent as its currency, and the most obvious way to get Lucent is to buy it with real money.

However, while every sum of Lucent was originally created by someone spending money on it, you don't need to spend any money to earn Lucent. You can earn loads of Lucent as a free-to-play player, if you know how to farm and sell in-demand items in the Auction House.

In this guide, we will explore five of the best methods for earning Lucent in Throne & Liberty. Before we get started, please note that your character needs to be Level 40 or above to access the Auction House - you cannot do any of the methods in this guide without it! If needed, check out our guide on how to level up quickly in Throne & Liberty

We will now get into the best ways of earning Lucent.

Sell Traits from Dungeon Farms

To start with this farming method, save up Dimensional Contract Tokens (you need to spend them to open chests at the end of dungeons). 360 Dimensional Contract Tokens are passively added to your character's inventory every 24 hours.

Farm the dungeon of your choice. Try to choose a dungeon that you enjoy playing that also drops valuable items. When you finish the dungeon's final boss, remember to open the chest. This will give you some loot and consume a set amount of Dimensional Contract Tokens (the amount depends on the dungeon).

Once you've saved up some good equipment items, buy Trait Extraction Stones from the Contract Coin Merchant. Extract the Trait from looted equipment. Sell the traits in the Auction House for Lucent.

This process seems lengthy on paper, but you can do it pretty quickly once you know how it works. It's RNG-dependent, but with some luck, you can earn a lot of Lucent as long as you sell for sensible prices.

Sell Item Lithographs

An alternative to selling extracted Traits is to sell Item Lithographs in the Auction House. This is the preferred option when you have an item that is more valuable than the traits on the item. This is likely to be the case for items that are meta or near-meta.

Open your inventory, and click the Lithograph button at the bottom. This will open the Lithograph view, highlighting items that can be turned into a Lithograph. Choose the item(s) and click the Lithograph button to turn them into Lithographs. This requires Blank Lithographs, which will cost a hefty sum of Sollant and destroy the item in the process. Once done, you can sell the Lithograph in the Auction House.

The player who purchases your Lithograph can use it to craft the original item for their own use.

This is not to be confused with the Lithograph Book, which is an entirely different system in Throne & Liberty.

Resales and Item Flipping

This is a money-making option that appears in most games with a player economy, and Throne & Liberty is no different. It requires a decent sum of Lucent to get started. Good market knowledge is helpful but not essential - once you start doing this, you will quickly learn through experience.

This method works by finding items other players are selling for an unusually low price. You buy these items and sell them at their market value, typically making a small profit on each item. Remember to account for the tax rate when deciding which items you want to flip - you can make a loss if you forget about the tax!

You can optimise this process by finding items in the Auction House that are usually valuable or items that are often sold and setting them as Favourites by clicking the star button. Then, periodically check your favourites to quickly look for promising item-flipping candidates.

Craft and Sell Food

While individually less valuable than Traits and Lithographs, Food items are still a good way of making Lucent in Throne & Liberty.

The downside is that you need to fully level up all three of your lifestyle skills to get the best out of this method - Cooking, Fishing and Expeditions

This method requires you to have a decent stockpile of ingredients for the cooking. Mouse over the ingredients to find out where to obtain them from. Some are looted from enemies, some from plant and mushroom nodes in the world, while others can be obtained from the Fishing and Expedition activities.

If unsure, search the Auction House to find out which food items players are in-demand.

Craft the food items and sell them for Lucent in the Auction House. When you get a Great Success during the crafting, you will get double the output, which allows you to sell even more. Fully levelling up your Cooking skill increases the likelihood of a Great Success.

Farm and Sell Gems

Precious Rubrix, Marind, Emeret and Stalon are all vital items for different forms of character progression in Throne & Liberty, and will always be in demand. Some players don't have the time or the patience to spend hours farming these items for their own character and would rather buy them on the Auction House, creating a constant market for them.

These can be found in ore nodes around the world. Another good place to get Marinds is to harvest them from Gigantrite during the Gigantrite Event - check the Event Calendar to find out when Gigantrite will be on the move. During rainy weather, Marind Ore nodes will appear around the map.

Another good way to find gems is to farm open-world dungeons. Ensure you are going in with plenty of Abyssal Contract Tokens, which will increase your chance of dropping valuable items like gems when defeating enemies. You can also use the Golden Apple Pie food to improve your Abyssal Contract Token Efficiency, improving your loot even more. You can also improve your Abyssal Contract Token Efficiency by unlocking Amitoi Effects and Pal Synergies - this is done by having lots of Amitois unlocked. Check out our guide on how to unlock all free Amitois in Throne & Liberty
