Crossbow Weapon Type Class Guide - Throne & Liberty Andrew 2 months ago Beginner Combat Crossbow Weapon Types Share on Reddit Share on Twitter Share on Facebook Welcome to our guide for the Crossbow weapon in Throne & Liberty. In this guide, we will explain the basics of using the Crossbow, useful skills and synergies, and the strengths and weaknesses of this weapon type. For more guides about a variety of topics in TL, please check our Throne & Liberty Guides Database. Crossbow Overview The Crossbow is a long-range weapon, specialised at overwhelming enemies with a high rate of attack. While individual Crossbow attacks tend to be weaker than attacks with other weapons, the high attack speed makes up for this. When building your Crossbow build, keep in mind that you get especially high value from Damage Boost effects, because these effects apply a flat damage boost, and the Crossbow will have this applied more frequently than other weapons due to its high attack speed. The Crossbow plays very well into PvE DPS due to its focus on defeating single-target enemies with a barrage of rapid attacks, however it can be used to good effect in PvP too. Crossbow Key Skills Some of the Crossbow's most important skills and passives are listed below: Mortal Mark - Fire a special bolt at an enemy, marking them. While marked, your damage against the enemy accumulates. When the mark expires it explodes, dealing bonus damage depending on how much damage was accumulated. Merciless Barrage - Attack 16 times with each hand. The base damage of each individual shot is quite small, but increases slightly for every successful hit, stacking up to 10 times. Weak Point Shot - Fire a shot that deals heavy damage to an enemy. Hitting an enemy that's using a Fury Attack has an 80% chance to apply a Weaken that increases your group's Critical Damage against the target for 6 seconds. This skill has a long cooldown, but if there are multiple Crossbow users in your group you can coordinate your use of this skill to significantly buff your group's DPS (this is a more advanced tactic for groups with voice comms). Eagle Vision (Passive) - Increases your Hit Chance, with the increase being larger the greater the distance is between you and your target. Nature's Power (Passive) - Gain Skill Damage Boost and Bonus Damage when you use a Movement or Mobility Skill. Bloodlust Stack (Passive) - Boosts your Skill Damage whenever an Attack Skill hits the target, stacking up to 10 times. At 10 stacks, your Critical Damage is also increased. This is only a selection of the Crossbow's skills and passives. You can find the full list, with more detailed stats, on our Crossbow overview page. Best Weapon Combos for the Crossbow Throne & Liberty allows you to equip two weapons at the same time, switching between them freely and slotting Skills and Passives from both weapons. The weapon types that work best with Crossbow are: Daggers - The Dagger is a natural companion for the Crossbow, since both weapons play into fast attacks, high mobility and high critical chance & critical damage. This is also thematically interesting for many players who want to make a stealth or assassin-style build. Using the Crossbow with the Daggers also gives you a melee option when needed, although your build will generally perform best at range due to the Eagle Vision passive. Longbow - For a fully ranged archer-style build, you can combo the Longbow with the Crossbow. As you might expect, both of these weapon types come with passives that buff ranged attacks, so combining them both allows you to buff your attacks with more passives simultaneously than with other weapon combos. Greatsword - The Crossbow is good at increasing your critical chance and critical damage, which can fit very nicely with the Greatsword due to the already high base damage of its attacks. It's more common to combine the Greatsword and Dagger for this purpose, but the Greatsword and Crossbow combo grants you additional versatility since you have both a melee and ranged weapon. This versatility is less useful in organized PvE, where players tend to have a fixed role and position, but it can help you a lot in pug groups or in PvP.
