It was the first time I visited Canina Village. I was exhausted from my long travels. I staggered out of the restaurant, still buzzed from the aperitif from dinner. The sun was just about to fall for the evening, and the sunset was amazing... perhaps because of the alcohol. When I got to the town plaza, I noticed a lady was looking at me. She looked so lonely, standing alone under the setting sun. I approached the girl as if I were possessed. And I spoke to her as politely as possible. I told her that it was my first time in this town, so I wanted to know some places good to visit. The lady listened to my story without any hint of distaste for my drunken ramblings. Then, she kindly offered to show me around the town. We took a walk through the town together... through streets, alleys, a plaza... and then out into the forest outside the village. At around this point, the sun went down completely. I don't remember much after that. When I suddenly woke from my stupor, I was quite far from the village. The torches lit by the guards looked dim in the distance. I was about to ask her if we could go back when the girl suddenly started to grow taller, her bones cracking like dry branches breaking.

It wasn't just her height that changed. As she growled, the woman's shoulders swelled. It was as if all the muscles in her body were crying out. Black hair grew from her face like a beast, and her eyes turned red like a blazing fire. It was at this point I recalled the fun fact that Canina Village was originally a fortress for the Resistance Army fighting against the lycans. I dashed toward the village, tears streaming down my face. From behind, hot breath clung to me as if it would bite my neck at any moment. I don't remember what happened next. I think the guards guarding the village shouted something... Anyway, the next few days were a blur. I am told I was shouting '"werewolf" or "lycan" as I drifted in between sleep and waking in a fever. As soon as my fever broke, I returned to Stonegard. I was completely fine. Well, actually for a while after that, I would start violently shaking at the sight of any dog. To this day, I have never returned to Canina Village. But if anyone out there reading this wants to go there, I just want to say... don't. But if you do... ... don't get distracted by pretty ladies in the town square.
