This build is inspired by Log Horizon's MC; Shiroe.
At its core, contending flames is aimed at buffing damage output, sustaining hp values and dealing significant burst damage with a short rotation CD if done correctly, note that not all fights are the same so the build is adapted to most PVE scenarios with mobile, stationary, high hp and high mechanic centred enemies. The healing from the wand/tome's Vampiric Contract skill will be the anchor to this build's significance in extended or even short fights. You want to have your Touch of Despair on the enemy constantly so your passive skill is always active for you and your allies. Your team buffs High Focus and Clay's Salvation can be cast at your discretion because using them before high mobility instances (when the team is taking massive damage or experiencing unavoidable mechanics) will waste it.
For a damage rotation you want to be under the full effects of your own buffs them start with - Time for Punishment - Touch of Despair - Serial Fire Bombs - Burning Smokescreen - Inferno Wave then into Fireball Barrage as at this point you are guaranteed to have maxed out the 10 burning stacks needed to make a barrage of 26 fireballs, all under your fully buffed effects [The rotation takes 7-9s and the buffs last 12s], more than ample time to either reposition or quickly heal with either Fountain of Life or Swift Healing in case of emergency. To wrap a pretty bow around this rotation you can hold off on using fireball barrage and instead finish up the curse at 3 stacks or 10 burning stacks with Curse Explosion which will take all weaken effects you've stacked, deal double the damage and mark the start of the rotation again. It depends on the situation or what is on or off CD.
You can adapt the damage rotation to suit your playstyle but optimally you want to finish up any stacks of weaken effects you've placed on the enemy with Curse Explosion.
Your defensive skill will either be Mystic Shield or Chaotic Shield as both will apply stacks or burning or curse, the former is more offensive as it applies 3 burning stacks while the latter is supportive and will heal an ally. Both work perfectly in this build.
